Clay grew up in the Las Vegas Valley, where he learned the value of loyalty and hard work early on by watching and later working for his father’s pool construction business. An Eagle Scout and graduate of Green Valley High School, Clay also served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in South America.
Upon returning, Clay worked his way through college, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from UNLV’s Lee Business School. He then attended the William S. Boyd School of Law, graduating in 2005 and receiving his license to practice law in 2006.
In 2006, Clay was awarded a highly competitive clerkship with the Honorable District Court Judge Cynthia “Diane” Steel. Today, he leverages this expertise to vigorously advocate for the rights of his clients.
Clay holds the prestigious AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell—a distinction earned relatively early in his career. This rating reflects the highest standards of legal ability (“A”) and professional conduct (“V”), based on confidential evaluations from Nevada lawyers and judges. Married to his wife Amber for 18 years, Clay is a devoted family man and father of six. Family remains the cornerstone of his life. Despite the demands of their law practice, Clay and Amber dedicate at least two weeks each summer to family vacations, enjoying fishing, camping, hiking, and exploring new cities across the country.
Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, languages he learned during his mission in Brazil, Clay enjoys connecting with clients in their native tongue. While his Spanish is a work in progress and often brings a smile to his clients, he strives to make them feel at ease during what can be a challenging and overwhelming process.
